No, this isn't a political thread. Rather, it's about how the Internet is changing the face of science, where backyard researchers are using science, savvy, discipline, and the Internet to catalogue species and aid research.

I love the internet

It allows people from all over the world to communicate and documen things.

It will also helpout the backyard researchers. They will be able to solicit help when they need it. There are many other things that this could aid.

Curious to see some other people's thoughts about this.

Internet is a technology which has made this thing possible so that we can talk and share views with each other. It is because if the internet that I am writing here and you are able to see what are my views about a perticular thing. I thing it is a great invention.

Scientists are an exclusive, arrogant elite. They don’t even talk to me, they only talk to each other. A subscription to a scientific journal costs hundreds of dollars a year, and the university won’t even let me into the library. Even if I could get a hold of one of those journals, I wouldn’t be able to read it because it isn’t written in English.
