My family are Scots-Irish Catholics but have known and some have been invited to join Freemasons (it's not strictly Protestant but I believe Catholics are only allowed up to a certain level so that Prods control it) my great granda was really good mates with one who taught him the hand shake etc., then one day my great granda called a plumber, the plumber said he couldn't get the part for some weeks, so he went "ok mate, nae bother" *done the hand shake* then the mason said something like "on second thought, I should be able to get it to you in a matter of days".

The entire legal system here is dominated by them, I'm talking both the Scots legal system and the England & Wales and UK systems. Also very likely North-East Ireland is the same, as it's quite obvious that the Unionists (mostly Protestant) still pull the strings, so would be no surprise at all.

Before few decades it was considered to be some kind of fashion to be a member of some secret society but I am surprised to hear that still people think they are surviving!

Since many years now I have been hearing about secret societies like Freemasons etc are involved in politics. They are also giving loads of donations for elections. But I am still unaware of the motives of these secret societies... What the hell they want out of politics?

The two major ones that I am concerned about are the Freemasons and Yale University's Skull and Bones society.

I'm not an expert on this, but many, many, many United States presidents have been members of the Freemasons. The History Channel has a few good documentaries about this. Though, if you expect to get information that isn't biased for fear of losing advertising, you may want to try some books.

I've heard that a lot of people in the spy community are members of Skull and Bones. What's with that?
